Science Questions
How are your exosomes different?
Exoceuticals® products utilize patented extracellular secretome technology (eXo³ and aloe³ exosomes) which are extracellular vesicles from subcutaneous tissue engineered to restore and enhance the power of the body's innate mechanisms of repair and regeneration. The enhanced selection of proteins, growth factors and nucleic acid send signals to neighboring skin cells to assist and influence their innate biological function to stimulate fibroblast proliferation and production of collagen, elastin and TGF B-1 to accelerate epidermal cell renewal, healing and maximize hydration, helping the skin reach a new level of radiance.
Is there human DNA present?
Although our eXo³ Exosomes are derived from natural human sourced cells, eXo³ Exosomes are a cell free product, our patented production process ensures that no intact living cells are included in our eXo3 product. Instead, only naturally secreted proteins, cytokines, and growth factors are gathered with the exosomes; all cells and cellular debris are eliminated using sterile filtration procedures. Although, some have shown concern that there may be small fragments of DNA present, our procedure guarantees that our products do not contain anything even remotely capable of replication or ‘making more of itself’ as a living cell can do.
Where do you source your exosomes?
eXo³ exosomes are isolated from human adipose derived stem cells which have been extracted from tissue that was safely, ethically, and legally sourced through FDA compliant donations.
All donor tissue is screened for pathogens and must test negative for communicable diseases and viruses. The stem cells that are utilized for eXo³ exosomes are further screened and are also fully characterized to confirm their identity and functionality and must pass rigorous quality control measurements throughout the manufacturing process.
Is using exosomes topically safe?
Yes. While exosomes are isolated from stem cells, unlike stem cells- exosomes do not have a nucleus. eXo³ Exosomes are a cell free product: our patented production process ensures that no intact living cells are included in our eXo³ product.
Instead, only naturally secreted proteins, cytokines, amino acids, and growth factors are gathered with the exosomes; all cells and cellular debris are eliminated using sterile filtration procedures.
While it is possible that there may be small fragments of DNA present, our procedure guarantees that our products do not contain anything even remotely capable of replication or ‘making more of itself’.
Exosome Questions
Can you explain your pricing and value?
Exoceuticals® offers the best value in the market.
The team behind Exoceuticals has been investigating the molecular mechanisms behind stem cells for over 30 years. This experienced team of scientists, physicians and advisors has brought forward the eXo³ Exosomes technology platform through decades of numerous scientific evaluations and clinical studies. The research and development commitment and manufacturing expertise necessary to ensure the highest quality consistently is an expensive undertaking.
We produce our eXo³ Exosomes in one of the top facilities in America, manufactured in small batches using a patented process that generates billions of bio-available exosomes, growth factors, proteins, and peptides. All materials that go into the making of this product are screened and tested to make sure they are pathogen-free. This process validation and quality control ensures that an Exoceuticals® product purchased today remain guarantees lot-to-lot consistency. Manufacturing expertise of exosomes is important: quality over quantity. There is no way to mass-produce optimized exosomes of this type, quality and bioactivity without severely altering or degrading the formula's effectiveness.
To ensure the high quality, potency and reproducibility of our formulation, our bioactive exosome ingredient is produced in small batches. Quality and consistency matters.
Other brands charge a fortune and only offer a small number of isolated synthetic ingredients or “bioactives” from less-than-optimal
sources. Exoceuticals® provides highly efficient and effective skin friendly products that are derived from a cell source that is part of the skin ecosystem.
How are your products different from platelet products?
Not all exosomes are the same. Some brands use human platelet extract while the eXo³ Exosomes are from human adipose-derived stromal stem cells, derived from the “lower layer” of our skin: also known as fat. Human adipose stromal/stem cells are mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs).
These mesenchymal stem cells are true progenitor cells known for their regenerative capabilities across organ systems. This is where our exosomes come from. Platelets do not come from stem cells. They are cells taken from the blood that go to the area of injury to stop bleeding by clotting the blood. They also are pro-inflammatory as they sequester immune cells to the area of injury. Platelet derivatives can stimulate a reparative and regenerative environment causing topical wound closure.
Adipose Stromal Cells are actual stem cells that are multipotent unspecialized cells that can replace a variety of different specialized cells in your body, where necessary. eXo³ exosomes from these Adipose Stromal Cells are tuned to target and impact skin cells as they are derived from skin itself (subcutaneous fat). Fat is a layer of the skin. These exosomes are the best choice for the skin as they come from skin, they know skin, they speak the language of skin- they can impact skin cells directly.
Are exosomes good for acne?
Although we don’t promote our products as an acne treatment, some customers have reported that their acne has responded well to our products. The main bioactive ingredient in Exoceuticals® products is eXo³ Exosomes, and studies have shown that exosomes have immunomodulatory potential as well as anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties. eXo³ Exosomes are cellular signaling molecules that modulate inflammatory responses in the skin to optimize the body’s innate response to bacterial and viral pathogens.
How do exosomes absorb into the skin?
Exosomes are nanosized vesicles secreted by cells that contain various biomolecules, such as proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. When applied topically, exosomes can be absorbed into the skin through several mechanisms:
Endocytosis: Exosomes can be engulfed by skin cells through endocytosis, a cellular process where the cell membrane surrounds the exosome and internalizes it into a vesicle.
- Fusion with cell membrane: Exosomes may fuse with the outer membrane of skin cells, releasing their contents directly into the cytoplasm of the cell.
- Transcytosis: Exosomes can move across the layers of the skin by passing through multiple skin cell layers via a process called transcytosis. This mechanism involves exosomes being taken up by one cell on the outer layer of the skin and then transported through the cell and released on the other side.
- Extracellular vesicle pathways: The skin contains various extracellular vesicle pathways, such as tight junctions between cells, which can allow exosomes to move between skin cells and into deeper layers of the skin.
Dermal penetration: Some studies suggest that exosomes can penetrate through the skin's barrier and reach the deeper layers of the skin, where they can exert their effects.

Will Hyaluronic Acid burn my skin?
No. When applied topically, hyaluronic acid is very well tolerated by all skin types and generally does not create any sensitization (burning and redness etc.) like some other acids. Hyaluronic Acid is not the kind of “acid” that burns (like alpha or beta hydroxy acids which work to exfoliate skin) Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substances in the body which harbors superpowers that hydrate, smooth and plump skin.
Can I use Hyaluronic acid with Tretinoin?
Hyaluronic acid and tretinoin can be used together in the same skincare routine. Spot treatments like tretinoin, or others, should be applied first, allowing them to fully absorb. We recommend completing your routine with EXO H-SERUM™ Hyaluronic Acid Treatment and then EXO FACE® Perfection Moisturizer.
