COCONUT OIL

Coconut oil is rich in medium-chain fatty acids, especially lauric acid and capric acid which have potent antimicrobial properties which is especially important for skin health, as many types of skin infections, including acne, cellulitis, folliculitis, and athlete’s foot, are caused by bacteria or fungi.   Coconut oil is linked to other potential benefits for skin, including reducing inflammation, improving antioxidant status, and decreasing oxidative stress, as well as keeping the skin hydrated to preserve its barrier function, promote the healing of scars, and maintain overall skin integrity. 

EUCALYPTUS OIL

Eucalyptus oil contains multiple natural ingredients including flavonoids, tannins, and 1,8-cineole (AKA cineole or eucalyptol), which have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and analgesic properties.  Laboratory studies have shown that eucalyptus oil may increase ceramide production to keep the skin moisturized, reduce inflammation, and prevent UVB-induced collagen degradation. 

GRAPE SEED OIL

Grapeseed oil is known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties and has been shown to significantly improve acne outbreaks.   Grapeseed oil contains a powerful antioxidant ingredient called proanthocyanidin and high amounts of omega-chain fatty acids and Vitamin E that improve the skin’s elasticity and softness.

MACADAMIA OIL

Macadamia oil is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids that nourish, soothe, and protect the skin; packed with palmitoleic acid, a vital fatty acid that decreases in content as your skin ages, macadamia oil is a true superfood for the skin.  Macadamia oil closely resembles the sebum that the skin naturally produces and contains squalene and oleic acids, which makes it a perfect natural hypoallergenic moisturizer that will not clog pores yet helps to reduce itchiness and inflammation.

Brown Algae Extract (BAE)

BAE or Laminaria Digitata is a concentrated extract of the brown algae. BAE is known to help protects mitochondrial DNA and increases skin oxygenation. As a result, BAE helps skin to look and act younger.

Moisturizes and protects skin. BAE is full of helpful proteins, carbohydrates, amino acids, and vitamins including vitamins A, D, E, and K, as well as triglycerides and minerals like iron and calcium. BAE helps restore, repair, and protect the skin thanks to its nourishing and hydrating properties.

Sun protectant. BAE extract is high in carotenoids, which help inhibit the absorption of harmful UVA and UVB sun rays. This ingredient is in some sun care products. It also inhibits the tyrosinase enzyme, which impairs the formation of melanin and prevents the darkening of the skin due to sun exposure.

Calm and Soothe skin. Iodine is an antiseptic, so products containing BAE can help soothe irritated or damaged skin and help kill bacteria that may otherwise infect the skin.

Rich in Antioxidants. BAE contains antioxidants that can help protect the skin against damage from free radicals that can lead to premature aging. This can help prevent the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

JAPANESE WAKAME

The bioactive compounds found in wakame seaweed, including phenolic compounds, polysaccharides, polyunsaturated fats, proteins, peptides, and amino acids have antioxidant and anti-aging properties.  Wakame contains 40% fucoidan and amino acids which have anti-allergenic and anti-inflammatory properties that can act as an emollient that protects the skin from water loss improving the skin’s hydration and complexion.

SEA KELP ALGAE EXTRACT

Sea kelp contains properties that reduce redness and irritation caused by dryness and conditions like eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and acne. Sea kelp is full of antioxidants and is also proven to decrease sebum production and bacteria, especially beneficial for those with flare-prone skin conditions like eczema and acne. 

SEA LETTUCE

The robust antioxidant and anti-inflammatory nutrient profile of sea lettuce includes Vitamins A, C, E, K, B-vitamins such as B1, B2, B12, and folate lends the seaweed excellent skin-boosting properties.

IRISH SEA MOSS

Like other forms of seaweed, Sea Moss is noncomedogenic and is rich in bioactive antioxidants, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory compounds that have potential benefits for skin care.  Sea Moss contains high amounts of polysaccharides (called carrageenans), which act as a thickening agent that forms a protective yet non-occlusive film over the skin and has been found to be a better humectant than even hyaluronic acid.

Noni is a rich source of nutrients including Vitamins A and C, flavonoids, potassium, linoleic, amino acids, and phytonutrients, which are known for improving the appearance of skin tone and elasticity.  The anti-inflammatory properties in noni are known for to help fight the appearance of breakouts on the skin as well as hydrating the skin with natural fatty acids making it useful for combating the appearance of acne and congestion.

Allantoin is a naturally occurring compound used for its ability to protect the skin from irritation. It is known to help stop irritants from inflaming sensitive skin.  The compound is also known to help add water to the skin, adding an additional hydration tool to EXO MEN™ Hydrating Moisturizer.

CASTOR OIL

This amazing oil made from seeds of the Castor plant helps with the conditioning of the skin and preserving moisture.  Castor Oil also contains several fatty acids which help to keep the skin healthy.  Castor Oil also helps improve the texture and effectiveness of the formulation.
